Christmas

I love this time of year, the holidays, the snow, the cold. I usually prefer Thanksgiving over Christmas--it seems to be quieter, less stressful--getting together with family, great food.
When Thanksgiving is over, I start to feel the pressure, the shopping, making cookies, all the parties. But I love the music, the lights.
This year, I find I have the craziest new Christmas obsession. Movies. I'm not talking It's a Wonderful Life, or White Christmas, or Holiday Inn. I mean, sure, those are all great movies and I'll watch those, too. But I'm talking cheesy made for television Christmas movies. You know- the ones on Lifetime, ABC Family, Hallmark.
I'm hooked. I've been seeking them out, flipping through my satellite guide, programming the DVR. The sappier the better, as far as I'm concerned. Santa Claus and angels appear in some of them, magically affecting the lives of the characters. Then there's the thousandth remake of A Christmas Carol.
I start watching, and within ten minutes, I know how it's going to end. But I don't care. I watch. I'm instantly taken in by the story, and I absolutely cannot look away.
I'm not exactly sure how this has happened, but there it is. This year, I will watch every schmaltzy Christmas movie I can find.
Do you have a guilty pleasure this Christmas?
